Jairzinho Rozenstruik promised a quick conclusion to his UFC Fight Night main event against Alexander Volkov.

Although that prediction was true, it didn't turn out as Rozenstruik had hoped. But he did not lose heart.

Volkov defeated Rozenstruik in the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday night And he looked full of confidence.

"Drago" was able to survive a series of tense strikes in the pocket, and he quickly backed Rozenstruik against the fence.

Volkov returned with his usual flurry, wobbling Rozenstruik before launching his mouthguard to the ground.

Despite protests from Rozenstruik, referee Herb Dean stopped the fight at Round 2:12. Officially, Volkov won via TKO.

"I feel happy to have won. Now, I am waiting for the next fight. Anyone. Volkov said that he was ready for any challenge and anything in the post-fight interview.

I know he has poor defense, with his back to cage. I was there when he went to the cage. He just moved forward for the knockout. Great fight.

Volkov, a former Bellator, M-1 heavyweight champion, improved his record to 35-10 and achieved his only first round finish in 13 UFC fights.

This was six years ago. Rozenstruik was added to the UFC's hit list, which also includes Fabricio Werdum, a former UFC heavyweight champion, and Alistair Overeem (former Strikeforce champion).
