The philosophy of the Rangers' head coach is to focus on the present. Today's events have nothing to do yesterday. 

"We are playing well." He said this ahead of Sunday's Eastern Conference Final against the Lightning. "We've been playing our best hockey in the last four games. 

the Rangers, who are leading the Lightning 2-0 in this series, seem to have something inside them that no one outside the room could believe.  

They are only two wins away from becoming Eastern Conference champions, and they have played some of their best hockey in these playoffs 

winning all four games, including beating the Hurricanes 5-2, 6-2, before beating the Lightning, 6-2, and 3-2. 

Tyler Motte stated, one day after his Game 2 win, "I don’t know if there’s so much momentum game-to-game as it might be confidence, 

As the Rangers recovered from series deficits of 3-1 and 2 in the first two rounds, brick by brick, their confidence has grown. 

The Rangers controlled play flawlessly over two New York games. Since 2019, no one has done this to the Lightning in seven games.

Motte stated, "I believe we always want to be competitive." We always want to fight, especially with each other. It's something you can see in spurts and in different ways.

The Rangers have everything they need. The next day, next period, and the next shift are all still possible. 

Motte stated that there is only one goal. "And if everyone is pushing for that one goal, chances are you'll have more success at it."
